DUMPGEO

Function

Produces a new set of partial source tapes from an old set of partial source tapes and the contents of a user's directory.

Format

DUMPGEO OVDFfile description, NVDFfile description, REEL0(magnetic tape description), REEL1(magnetic tape description), REEL2(magnetic tape description), SCDYusername, ERlabel

Where:

• OVDF gives the file description of the VDF file for the old set of partial source tapes (as produced by MAKEVDF)
  
  
• NVDF gives the file description of the file to contain the VDF for the new set of partial source tapes
  
  
• REEL0 gives the magnetic tape description for the new reel 0 of the partial source; the tape description must include a serial number to be included in the NVDF parameter
  
  
• REEL1 gives the magnetic tape description for the new reel 1 of the partial source
  
  
• REEL2 gives the magnetic tape description for the new reel 2 of the partial source; this parameter is optional
  
  
• SCDY gives the username of the user to whom the new source files belong
  
  
• ER is optional and gives a label to which control is to be passed if an error occurs; if it is omitted the macro will EXIT

Execution

The OVDF and SCDY directory are read to produce a new version definition file, such that:

1. Any file in the OVDF for which there is a higher generation in the SCDY user is replaced by the file in the SCDY user
2. Any file in the SCDY user that does not appear in the OVDF is put on REEL2. The REEL parameters are used to put in the REEL lines in the NVDF and are used to ONLINE the tapes upon which the new set of partial source files are dumped
